Digital Firing Circuit

Digital firing circuit for single phase converter, single phase ac voltage controller, and DC chopper.

This firing circuit generates isolated triggering pulses for different circuits. The firing angle can be varied from 180⁰ to 0⁰ with a resolution of 1⁰ while the duty cycle can be varied from 90% to 10%. A thumb wheel switch is provided to vary either of the parameter. The firing scheme is based on ZCD, fixed frequency line synchronized clock generator, up/down counter, flip flop and pulse transformer isolation method.

The connections are brought a front panel through terminals and the entire setup is enclosed in a powder coated MS box.
